So I was idly reading through the TV Tropes wiki, minding my business (did anyone notice that TV Tropes kinda has the same addictive value as wikipedia? I often enough litereally spent hours just reading the articles in both wikis ...), As Suddenly™ I read something about some guy doing some thing. Whatever. Somewhere I found the link to the blog of that guy, read an article, deemed it interesting enough to keep the tab open (oh the joys of tabbed browsing). This tab lay dormant and forgotten for months, as I did not have the inclination to read blogs. (I have read web comics like Gunnerkrigg Court - I think it is awesome and you go read it, kthx - in the mean time.)
Months pass, I open the tab and started reading. WWdN is the name. Nice guy, great writing style. He is a total geek. A dork. He is a D&D gamer, played many more RP games. He writes books, is a total audiophile and shares a streak for "I will keep this book / CD / and so fort, in case it comes in handy later" with me. Very fun :) He also has occasional pictures on his blog, e.g. of this TV character thingy. So I thought "I know the guy from somewhere. The text says, this is said blogger guy. Let's ask google."
To my astonishment, the guy who played Wesley Crusher (one of the most annoying Star Trek characters) seems to be a neat person who plays RPG. Wil Wheaton has regular columns in the Dungeon magazine and another one I forgot. He works with / for / because of the OSS and EFF. I would have never thought that Wesley Crusher's actor would be such a terrific guy. Well, sorry, Wil, I won't buy your book but I will surely read more of your blog :)
P.S.: I know I have used many links in this blog entry. The only really interesting if the one to Wil's blog. With the possible exception of TV Tropes. That is funny, too :)
